Symbol Drama
BildSymbol Drama is an imaginative psychotherapeutic method that has both structuring and formative effects on the psyche. In surprisingly few sessions, many problems can be successfully resolved.

The German psychoanalyst Hans Carl Leuner
developed this method that focuses on encouraging the client to imagine inner scenes such as a meadow, a brook or a house, which enable a targeted processing in this easily altered state of consciousness. When this point is reached, inner images created by the client process conflicts, feelings of inadequacy and trauma on a symbolic level.

This form of therapy can be used as a starting point for deeper transformation of the human psyche. Visualisation, (word pictures from the left-hand side of the brain), imagination, (images with greater intensity from the right-hand side of the brain), and archetypal visions that help us transcend from the physical to transcendent dimensions, for example via Active Imagination can be further developed from Symbolic Drama Therapy.

"We are such stuff
As dreams are made on,
and our little life
Is rounded with a sleep."

Shakespeare

Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night
Do not go gentle into that good night,
Old age should burn at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Though wise men at their end know dark is right,
Because their words had forked no lightning they
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright
Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight,
And learn, too late, they grieve on it´s way.
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight
Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

And you my father, there on the sad height,
Curse, bless, me now with your fierce tears, I pray.
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Dylan Thomas
