EMDR

(Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing), is a psychotherapeutic method that can help you reduce the effects of experiences from the past that interfere with your everyday life.

Usually, these experiences are traumas of various kinds such as assault, abuse, accidents of natural disasters.

Even if a trauma has occurred

several months or even years ago, you can still feel its effects through so-called Post-traumatic Stress Disorder such as flashbacks, feeling emotionally overwhelmed, nightmares, anxiety, emotional distance, low self-esteem and other difficulties coping with living a normal life.

EMDR has also been used

to help people cope with anxiety and panic attacks, severe grief, reaction to physical disease and many other conditions where strong emotions are associated with major life experiences.

To date, EMDR’s effectiveness in treating conditions other than PTSD has not been proven by research.
